About râz
While the true origin of the band is still a mystery, the name "râz " comes from Farsi (Persian) meaning secret. And in a way, râz is the northwest's best kept secret, as far as world music is concerned. Within ths music of râz, you will hear a new type of musical thread that is rich in texture and yet flexible in form.

This summer is bound to be action-packed, as the boys will begin a new series of shows at Java Mama in July and August. In addition, a joint concert with Al-Andalus, Laurelhurst Park Summer Concert Series, and an appearance at Art in the Pearl will round out the summer, so keep checking the shows page!!!
