Please join us for an evening of enchantment as artists from Seattle (Arte Flamenco) and Portland (Shabava) come together for a unique concert. Your senses will be immersed in a broad canvas of music, dance and poetry that is as diverse as the artists' respective backgrounds.

This program will feature music from Iran, Spain, North Africa, Central Asia as well as original compositions. In addition, some of the selections will feature dance from Southern Spain, and poetry from Iran, Spain and the Arab world.

Shabava Live @ IFCC

Join us for a multimedia concert featuring music from Iran, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Morocco, Turkey, and Spain, performed on flamenco guitar, oud, santoor, kamancheh, setar, electric violin, cajon, frame drum, and hand percussion. In addition, Shabava members will be joined by guest artists Maestro Hossein Salehi (Santoor), and Lamiae Naki (Voice).

The poetry of Rumi will take center stage, accompanied by projected translations for select pieces. This visual component (at IFCC) is made possible through a partnership between Ethos Music Center and ArtMAx Academy, the presenting sposors of the show. A portion of the proceeds will benefit ArtMax Academy.

Rumi: One with the Beloved

Exclusively at the Beloved Festival

The grand finalé of the Rumi trilogy, this concert will feature several new element of Sufi Poetry, as members of Shabava take the audience on an introspective journey. Throughout this journey, they will share a story that originates from different corners of the world, but shares a destination. This will be the last of three concerts dedicated to the 800th birthday of Rumi, so don't miss it!
