While the true origin of the band is still a mystery, the name "râz " comes from Persian meaning secret. And in a way, râz is the northwest's best kept secret, as far as world music is concerned. Within the music of râz, you will hear a new type of musical thread that is rich in texture and yet flexible in form.

This summer, that band will be making several appearances in the northwest, and has already performed in Vancouver, BC.  Stay tuned for updates about the shows in the bay area.
